My Call For Questions From You. And Your Help.

Hi and welcome to Episode 137 of the Photography Explained podcast.

I’m your host Rick, and in each episode I will try to explain one photographic thing to you in plain English in less than 10 minutes (ish) without the irrelevant details. What I tell you is based on my lifetime of photographic experience. And not Google.

Right – here is the answery bit

As you will have gathered I am not explaining anything in this episode. I am asking you to do two things which will help me to make shape the podcast to better serve you and answer your questions. And this is why I created my podcast, to answer your questions.

You can listen to the episode here

Or keep on reading. Or do both. Entirely up to you!

Firstly, please send me your question

When I started this podcast it was always my hope that my listeners would send in questions for me to answer. That has not quite worked out, so I am taking time in this episode to ask you for your questions, dear listener.

There is a list of things that I will cover on the questions page, which you will find at Photography Explained Podcast.com/questions. Happy if you just check out that page and pick something off that list and let me know that this is something that you would like me to answer.

But if there is something else just let me know, just go to Photography Explained Podcast.com/ask. And don’t worry, no matter how unusual, difficult or just plain obscure your question is I will attempt to answer it in plain English in less than 10 minutes (ish) without the irrelevant detail. Ask me anything photography related, and I mean anything. Well, anything that will not affect my podcast’s clean rating that is!

My survey

Yes, I have set up a survey, with 9 multiple-choice questions and a box at the end where you can tell me anything you want to. Just head over to the Photography Explained Podcast Website survey page, fill in the form and accept my sincere thanks for doing this.

I have created a podcast to help you as a photographer dear listener, so it makes sense that I ask you and other listeners what you want me to do. You are the one listening to this after all.

So if you could spend a couple of minutes and complete the questions on my survey I would be most grateful

What’s in it for you?

Ask me a question and when I answer it I will give you a big shout-out in that episode. I am also going to start a page where I will add listeners’ names who have asked me questions and which episode their questions appeared on. Not yet, it will look a bit sad. But soon hopefully. And I was thinking of calling it the Photography Explained Podcast Hall Of Fame!

And I can also give a link to your website if you have one. Or your social media profile, whatever you want.

So not only do you get your question answered, but you get your name out there in podcast land and also on the internet. Don’t forget my podcast has been downloaded in 95 countries at the time of writing this! So join me in getting your name out there on this big old globe of ours that we find ourselves on.

The talky bit

I have a blog where I write about photography stuff on a weekly basis. In my blog, I write about all aspects of building photography. And I seem to have the ability to come up with an endless number of things to write about. Check it out at Rick McEvoy Photography.com.

But the Photography Explained Podcast is the place where I want to answer your questions. Sure I can come up with an endless list of photography questions, which I am more than happy to do. I mean I love doing this so this is not a problem.

But it would be so much better if I was answering your questions. This is what I am all about, and what I really love to do.

See when I have a listener question to answer I have lots more work to do, but this is absolutely fine as I am doing what I wanted to do from the very beginning. And the enjoyment levels just go up so you will be helping me and everyone else listening.

I think you get the point so I am going to stop waffling there.

There are 14 weeks until Christmas would you believe, so I need lots of listener questions to keep me going until then. And if you have two questions that is absolutely fine – the more the merrier.

Right – I am done. I really look forward to hearing from you.

What do I do?

What do I do? Well, what I want to do is answer your questions.

Next episode

Photography Explained Podcast Episode 138 – no idea, you tell me. OK – here it is – Is Photography Still Relevant In 2022? And What About In The Future?

As I always say, If you have a photography question you would like me to answer, in plain English, in less than 10 minutes (ish), without the irrelevant details, just head over to PhotographyExplainedPodcast.com/start. You can also find out more about me and my podcast, and also ways to help me.

So send me your question, or just say hi – it would be great to hear from you.

This episode was powered by, wait for it, a cheese and pickle sandwich (made by myself) with a bag of ready-salted crisps washed down with a lovely ice cold Diet Pepsi, sat here in my not too warm, home-made, acoustically cushioned recording emporium (avoiding next doors gardening activities).

I’ve been Rick McEvoy, thanks again very much for listening to my small but perfectly formed podcast (it says here), and for giving me 10 (ish) minutes of your valuable time.

Take care, stay safe

Cheers from me Rick”

Right – that was the podcast episode.
